Position Summary

The Maître D’ is a dynamic, fast-paced role, responsible for guest communications, reservation management, and overall stewardship of our venue and offerings. The Maître D’ acts as the first and last point of contact upon guestarrival and departure, ensuring guest satisfaction during their experience.

Responsibilities, Duties, Functions, and Tasks

• Acknowledge and greet all guests upon arrival to the space, answering questions, and communicating the fundamentals of our food hall operations to first-time customers

• Manage and seat reservations the cocktail lounge, maximizing guest count

• Effectively and professionally communicates across multiple platforms with our guests via email, phone,Resy, and social media direct messages

• Rapidly responds to waitlist requests

• Create, update, and communicate large group reservations requested through all channels

• Ensures that all guests entering cocktail lounge spaces are carded, and over 21-years-old

• Ensures that venue rules are kindly enforced and adhered to by guests

• Assist with implementation of marketing initiatives, as directed by the Beverage Manager

• Has a welcoming and accommodating attitude with every guest

• Must be knowledgeable and aware of current and future activations, promotions, and private events, and be able to direct guests to and answer questions about the day’s happenings across the hall

• Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with the dress code

• Maintains general knowledge of vendors and their offerings

• Diffuses situations calmly and respectfully, preventing escalation whenever possible

• Effectively and professionally communicates with other team members via Slack, email, and on-shift radio communications

• Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming entryway and host stand

• Assists the floor team in bussing and resetting tables when needed

• Coordinates any concerns or unsatisfactory experiences of our guests to the Manager on Duty for immediate resolution

• Ensures the highest level of cleanliness and safety in our space at all times, pro-actively reporting issues to the Manager on Duty

• Monitors and protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire and accidents.

• Manages parking validation upon guest departure

• Prints, displays, and updates in-store directional and marketing signage, ensuring displays are clean and in good repair

• All other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be motivated, hardworking, passionate with superior verbal skills

• Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and decision-making abilities

• Self-motivated, positive attitude and willingness to work as a team to go above and beyond expectations

• Ability to spot potential situations and resolve conflicts with respect and decorum, escalating to management when necessary

• Commitment to company values and excellent guest service

• Ability to keep an open and objective view, listen empathetically, and be respectful always

• Successful applicants must be able to transition between busy and slower times of the evening maximizing every guest’s experience.

• A proven track record of personally providing excellent customer service, sales or previous experience working in a nightclub, bar, restaurant, hotel or similar role a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Two (2) or more years of experience in a hotel, restaurant, lounge, or similar setting

  • Position will be required to work late nights and weekends.
