Position Summary

The Guest Assistant is the face of the market and is responsible for ensuring high-quality service to guests and vendor-partners alike. The Guest Assistant is responsible for facilitating the cleanliness, maintenance, and turnover of tables in the Market and delivering an exceptional guest experience. This includes prompt and attentive service, setting tables efficiently, serving and refilling water, and cleaning the dining area and serving stations.


Responsibilities, Duties, Functions, and Tasks

  • Follows all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Stack clean, dry china in designated areas

  • Maintains a clean, well-groomed, professional appearance always.

  • Responds appropriately to guest requests.

  • Communicates guest requests to supervisors as needed.

  • Clears dishes, sanitize and set tables, sweep or vacuum the surrounding floor in a professional and effective manner.

  • Removes trash on a regular basis around the hall

  • Continuous grooming of the entire restaurant and its perimeters.

  • Serves water, provides refills as needed.

  • Stocks all service areas and maintaining adequate supplies during the meal period, including ice.

  • Ensures that each guest is treated in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.

  • Thanks guests as they are leaving.

  • Maintains personal health and sanitation standards based on health regulations.

  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide


Skills and Aptitudes

  • Social Distancing / Proper Hygiene

  • Strong guest service orientation.

  • Good communication skills (verbally interacts with management, team members, and guests).

  • Identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.

  • Ability to accept constructive criticism and work calmly and effectively under pressure.

  • Ability to take directions and be a team player.

  • Multi-task-oriented and self-motivated.


Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to speak and hear, vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and th ability to adjust focus

  • Constant standing, sitting and walking

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.

  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Be able to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to cut, measure, pour, serve, carry and wipe.
