Team Spotlight: Davis Cousar
Davis Cousar, Market Manager, Politan Row at The Forum
What is your hometown?
I was born in Dallas, Texas, but I’ve lived in the Atlanta area my entire life.
What’s your origin story, how did you get into hospitality, and how did you find yourself at Politan Row?
I’ve pretty much worked my whole working career in hospitality. Like most people, I started working at this little breakfast place in the city called Homegrown because the majority of my friends worked there. I got an opportunity to work at Fox Bros BBQ, working in the kitchen as a food runner, and worked my way up to serving. I ended up meeting my wife while working at Fox as well. How I got to Politan is that I was working this terrible delivery job and knew Mara from Fox. She recommended me for this wonderful opportunity with Mike, and the rest is history.
What are your favorite things to eat at the food hall?
What a tough question to ask! Like most people, Sheesh is a staple here at the Market. But my go-to lately has been El Kohuich. Their street tacos and burritos are out of this world.
When you're not working, what are you doing? Any hobbies?
My wife and I are expecting our first son this coming May, so lately, it's just been getting everything in order. When I’m not doing baby things, I really just love Braves baseball and golf (shout out to my golfing work buddies Austin and Hector), or playing with my two dogs, Nyx and Murphy.
What are you thinking about long term? Any big dreams that you’d like to make happen for yourself?
My long-term goal is to become a director of operations to lead from a position to change and better the industry for the guest as well as employees. My dream is to grow into a larger role facilitating the Atlanta Braves, as I am a lifelong fan, whether that be in charity or corporate endeavors.
